Aims and Scope
* Aims
The Sociolinguistic Journal of Korea (SJK) is a journal of sociolinguistics published by the Sociolinguistic Society of Korea (SSK). The journal publishes research on a variety of topics and issues on language as a social act. Specifically, the journal focuses on diverse aspects of language in interaction, inclusive of both empirical or theoretical studies from various approaches to the social behavior of language use. The publication also includes reviews of recently published books pertaining to sociolinguistics.
* Scope
The Sociolinguistic Journal of Korea invites original works on all branches of sociolinguistics. Those works should be mainly based on empirical/experimental analysis, critiques on theories, and/or new proposals on the following areas:
- Language variation and Change
- Language and Gender
- Language and Age
- Language and Social class
- Language and Region
- Language and Culture
- Terms of address and Honorifics
- Pragmatics
- Conversation analysis
- Discourse analysis
